About

Martin Jaroszewicz is a composer and sound artist with a background in systems engineering and advanced degrees in music technology, specializing in spatial sound, sound synthesis, and programming. His musical training began alongside his secondary education at the Instituto Superior de Música José Hernández, followed by classical guitar studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel de Falla in Buenos Aires before transitioning to composition. His compositional practice spans intimate solo works to full chamber orchestra pieces, encompassing sound installations, video art, live improvisation, and electronic music.

His doctoral research at University of California Riverside's Electroacoustic Research Studios (EARS) explored space as a structural element in electroacoustic composition, resulting in the 𝘓𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘴 series of études and the development of computational tools for sound trajectory design. His work with Wave Field Synthesis systems at institutions including the Game of Life in the Netherlands and Technische Universität Berlin has shaped his approach to spatial composition.

Jaroszewicz has researched gestural control and interactive music systems, developing non-invasive methods for interfacing performers with electronic systems using motion capture and IMUs. He collaborated on the EU Mobilitas Pluss project "Enactive Co-presence in Narrative Virtual Reality" at Tallinn University's Enactive Virtuality Lab, contributing to research on presence and interaction in immersive environments.

His professional work includes sound design for the VR game 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 based on Isaac Asimov's series, released for PlayStation VR and Meta Quest, as well as film scoring for animated shorts and feature films. He has taught music technology, sound design, and electroacoustic composition at institutions including the University of California and California State University. His work has been performed internationally at festivals and conferences across North America, Europe, and South America.

He currently teaches interactive audio and music design using Metasounds in Unreal Engine at Emily Carr University in Canada. In recent years, his teaching has included electronic music composition, core music curriculum, and music technology at the University of California (various campuses) and California State University, Northridge. He has also delivered workshops and presentations at various schools and institutions globally.
